Jhansi, Feb. 17 -- Vishnu Kumar Jain, father of former Union minister Pradeep Jain Aditya, attained Santhara-a Jain vow involving voluntary and gradual fasting to death-at the age of 91, on February 15-16 night. He was laid to rest at the 700-year-old Karguanjee Jain temple premises amid chanting of hymns, with thousands of people gathering at the site since Monday morning to pay their respects. Pradeep Jain Aditya said his father, a retired railway loco pilot, had been spiritually inclined from an early age. On February 6, he gave up food and expressed his desire to undertake Santhara.
