FIR filed over viral video alleging irregularities in SI recruitment exam result
LUCKNOW, May 12 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has lodged an FIR against a social media user for allegedly spreading misleading claims regarding the proposed result of the Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Direct Recruitment Examination-2025, according to an official press note issued on Monday.
The board said a Facebook user, identified as Ashutosh Pandey belonging to Prayagraj, allegedly uploaded and circulated a video claiming the recruitment examination result was being manipulated and that jobs were being secured through bribery and "jugaad".
Taking cognisance of the viral video, the police registered an FIR on Monday at Hussainganj police station in Lucknow commissionerate under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 221 for obstructing public servant, 292 for act of public nuisance and 353(1)(B) for Circulating false information along with Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, the press note stated.
The UPPRPB warned that strict action would be taken against individuals spreading false and misleading information related to the recruitment process.
The board also appealed to candidates appearing in the recruitment process to remain cautious and not fall prey to rumours or misleading social media messages....
