PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 17 -- A farmer was found murdered near a pumping set outside Ghorha village under Antu police station of Pratapgarh late Saturday night. The body of 42-year-old Shivshankar Shukla, also known as Munna, was discovered on Sunday afternoon, police said. The victim had sent his wife Ranjana home for dinner on Saturday evening before going to sleep at the pumping set. When she returned, he was missing. Ranjana began searching for him late at night and villagers joined the search on Sunday morning.Around noon, Munna's body was found in a field about 150 metres from the pumping set along the Chilbila-Antu road. SHO of Antu police station Anandpal Singh Bhadoria and CO (City) Prashant Raj Hudda reached the spot after receiving the report. The body was sent for a postmortem examination. "An FIR has been registered and an investigation is now on," the SHO said. A 25-year-old man who attended a wedding procession with co-workers was allegedly assaulted and thrown before a moving train in Bhawalpur village, Prayagraj. The victim, Chandraprakash Mishra, known as Golu, had recently returned from Gujarat and was assisting a local caterer. He was last seen at the wedding on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, his body was found on the railway track, with injury marks and his phone broken. Police detained several colleagues. During questioning, a co-worker admitted they attacked Golu over his alleged chats with a friend's girlfriend and pushed him onto the tracks. An investigation is under way....
