VARANASI, March 15 -- The minister of state (independent charge) for stamps, court fee and registration instructed the officials of Gail to expedite the process of providing door-to-door PNG (Piped Natural Gas) through special camps. Ravindra Jaiswal held a meeting with GAIL officials at the Circuit House auditorium on Saturday. During the meeting, he reviewed the progress of the door-to-door gas connection initiative and issued directives to expedite the process. He further instructed that special camps to provide door-to-door PNG connections be organised at all 8 zonal offices across the city, starting this Sunday. He stated that GAIL is actively providing kitchen gas connections to households across the region. Upon application, a connection will be installed within one week. To date, 122,946 connections have been successfully installed across 68,196 households. Gas pipelines have already been laid across a significant portion of the trans-Varuna region. Connections to individual households in these areas have also been completed. Furthermore, 80% of the urban area has also been successfully covered under this initiative. He stated that GAIL has already extended its main pipeline network to both urban and rural areas to facilitate door-to-door gas connections. Noting that the number of actual household connections was relatively low compared to the infrastructure laid, he issued directives to organise special camps and launch a dedicated campaign to expedite the provision of connections. He placed particular emphasis on accelerating the pace of household connections relative to the branch lines that have already been laid. GAIL officials provided the company's helpline numbers-7268071339 and 9454535384-and informed the public that complaints regarding connections or supply issues could be registered on these helplines at any time. Additionally, complaints can also be lodged via the 'PNG MITRA' mobile application. Satyendra Kumar, district magistrate, directed GAIL officials to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to facilitate the provision of gas connections by organising special camps at all eight of the city's zonal offices....
