Lucknow, April 2 -- Avneesh Kumar, the executive engineer (Billing) of the Amausi zone, was removed from his post on Wednesday due to alleged negligence and failure to resolve a faulty electricity bill complaint. The decision came after the managing director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Riya Kejriwal, ordered Kumar's transfer from the collection unit to the headquarters, where he has been attached to the director (personnel & management). The move follows a recent public hearing held at the residence of the state's energy minister, where a consumer alleged that an incorrect electricity bill of Rs.25,000 had not been rectified despite repeated requests.
