Jaipur, Feb. 5 -- Former MLA Baljeet Yadav on Wednesday was remanded in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody for three days in a case of embezzlement of Rs.3.72 crore in Local Area Development (LAD) funds, officials said. According to an ED official, "The case relates to the alleged misappropriation of Rs.3.72 crores from LAD fund during the Covid-19 pandemic in the procurement of cricket and badminton items for nearly 32 government schools in Behror." Yadav, a former independent MLA from Behror, was arrested on Tuesday night at a toll plaza in Alwar's Shahjahanpur. The arrest followed an extensive ED search operation on January 24, 2025, at several premises linked to him in Jaipur, Dausa, and Haryana's Rewari.
