Egg-seller beats 'bully' to death; arrested
LUCKNOW, Jan. 26 -- An egg-seller allegedly beat a man to death as the latter frequently bullied him, police here suspected. The man's body was found near an irrigation canal in the Nagram area here on Friday morning, and the egg-seller, identified as Arvind Kumar, 20, was arrested on Sunday.
Additional DCP Vasanth Rallapalli said Arvind Kumar claimed to have been frequently harassed and assaulted by Om Prakash.
On Jan 22, an inebriated Om Prakash came near Arvind's makeshift shop and lay down on the ground.
"The accused allegedly saw this as an opportunity to settle old scores. Later, he returned with an iron bar, dragged Om Prakash into the nearby bushes and assaulted him repeatedly on the head," the ADCP said.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
"A joint team of Nagram police and the South Zone surveillance unit arrested the accused near the Achalikheda barrage within 36 hours. The murder weapon and clothes worn during the crime were recovered. Further investigation is underway," said police in their press note....
