DEHRADUN, Feb. 13 -- The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) on Thursday granted financial approvals to major development proposals of various departments at a meeting held at Secretariat in Dehradun under the chairmanship of chief secretary Anand Bardhan. During the meeting, the chief secretary directed senior officials of all concerned departments to fix clear timelines for the implementation of construction works and related proposals and ensure that all projects are completed within deadlines and with strict quality standards. The committee recommended financial approval of Rs.64.94 crore for the construction of a modern, well-equipped single-storey parking and shopping complex at the Champawat Roadways Station in Champawat district, which the chief secretary directed should be named "City Center Champawat". He instructed officials to ensure better facilities for passengers and the local public, proper arrangements for marketing of local products, and integrated parking for taxis along with roadways buses so that the complex provides maximum convenience to the general public....
