New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- With Assembly elections due in four states and one Union Territory in 2026, the Election Commission has ordered the transfer of key officials involved in the conduct of elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry to ensure neutrality in the conduct of elections. In an order issued on Tuesday, the Commission said "officers directly connected with election work will be moved out from their home districts or from districts where they have completed three years or more during the last four years".
