Dryer, colder days from Feb 4 onwards: Met
LUCKNOW, Feb. 3 -- The early morning temperature in Lucknow jumped from 7.6deg C on Sunday to 13deg C on Monday. The maximum temperature rose from 24.1deg C on February 1 to 26.3deg C on February 2, an IMD bulletin read. Lucknow was the warmest city in the state being 2.3 degrees above normal.
"Under the influence of a Western Disturbance over Punjab and Haryana, the state's temperature has increased over the past 24 hours," said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at Lucknow Met office.
The forecast for Lucknow is partly cloudy sky becoming mainly clear towards evening/night with possibility of very light rain. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 25 and 13deg C, respectively. Moderate to dense fog is also expected in Lucknow tomorrow morning.
The state forecast for Tuesday is very light rain/thundershowers at isolated places over the state. There's a warning of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) over West UP. Dense fog is very likely at a few places over the state. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely over East UP.
"Due to the influence of successive Western Disturbances, dense to very dense fog is expected across the state, with a possibility of scattered rainfall in the southern parts of the state until tomorrow," said Singh.
The weather is likely to become dry from February 4, leading to a 2-3degC drop in minimum temperatures.
The prevailing dense to very dense fog across the state is expected to continue for the next 48 hours, after which it is likely to gradually decrease from February 5 due to increased wind speed....
