Drunk e-rickshaw driver crushes child to death
PRAYAGRAJ, March 29 -- In a tragic incident in Garhwa village, Kaushambi, a seven year old boy died after a drunk e-rickshaw driver ran over him and dragged him for several metres. The police have registered a case against the accused driver.
Reports revealed Himanshu, nephew of a local Ashish Kumar, was playing outside his home on Friday when Mangal arrived driving an e rickshaw in an inebriated condition, according to eyewitnesses. Following a written complaint by Ashish Kumar, police have registered a case against Mangal.
A dumper driver suffered severe injuries after he rammed the vehicle he was driving into a stationary truck near Pratapgarh's Dihwa village on Saturday morning. The collision completely crushed the cabin of the moving vehicle, trapping its driver inside. Hearing the loud sound, locals rushed to the spot along with police outpost In-charge Amit Dwivedi.
They managed to pull out the trapped driver, identified as 35 year old Shubham Mishra, resident of Mishra Ka Purwa. Shubham was immediately rushed to Prayagraj for critical medical care.
A 30 year old photographer from Agai village under Lalganj Kotwali of Pratapgarh was allegedly attacked on Friday evening over a dispute related to photos and videos from an event held two years ago. The assailant, angered over the delay in receiving photos and videos, allegedly attacked the photographer with a knife, inflicting deep wounds on various parts of the body. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused.
The victim, Amarjeet Saroj, was returning from the fields when Rakesh Saroj, a fellow villager along with an accomplice, intercepted him outside the village. The duo repeatedly stabbed him, leaving him critically injured. Hearing Amarjeet's cries, villagers rushed to the spot and took him to the Lalganj Trauma Centre from where he was referred to Prayagraj.
Following a written complaint by the victim's family, police registered a case of attempted murder. Rakesh Saroj has been arrested, said Lalganj Kotwali incharge Alok Kumar Singh.
A 60 year old woman died after she got caught in a thresher while threshing wheat in the fields of Rampur Adharganj village under Dilippur police station limits in Pratapgarh on Friday evening.
