Don't interfere with prayers in mosque: HC to Badaun authorities
PRAYAGRAJ, March 15 -- The Allahabad high court has directed the authorities in Badaun district not to interfere with prayers being offered in a mosque located inside a private property.
While issuing the above directive, a division bench comprising justice Shekhar B Saraf and justice Vivek Saran agreed with a view taken recently by a co-ordinate bench that there was no prohibition in law against conducting a religious prayer meeting on private premises.
The order was passed on a petition filed by Alisher of Badaun seeking directions to restrain authorities from causing any interference in the peaceful offering of namaz by the petitioner, his family members and other members of the Muslim community in the mosque namely Waqf Masjid Raza existing over a portion of his property.
