Dehradun, Jan. 9 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday directed officials to carry out strict and regular verification of Ayushman cards, ration cards, family registers, electricity bills and other key documents, and to take stringent action against those found to have obtained such documents fraudulently. He also ordered strict action against officials issuing false certificates and instructed departments to intensify drives against encroachments across Dehradun district. Chairing a review meeting of development works of Dehradun district at Secretariat, the CM asked the district administration, forest department, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) and the municipal corporation to take continuous action to remove encroachments. Dhami stressed the need for better coordination among departments during road construction projects, directing that all related works, including underground electricity, water and gas lines, be completed within the stipulated time frame. He instructed all departments to prepare a list of proposed works for the year and proceed accordingly. The Dehradun district magistrate was asked to draw up a concrete action plan and grant permissions only after fixing clear timelines. The chief minister also laid emphasis on proper maintenance of internal roads. Highlighting the importance of innovation-driven development, Dhami said improved roads and corridors in Dehradun have significantly enhanced connectivity, which is expected to boost tourist inflow and public movement. He called for faster implementation of development plans keeping future requirements in mind and said public representatives should be consulted before finalising projects. The chief minister reiterated that public grievances should be resolved on the spot under the 'Government for the People, at the People's Doorstep' programme and ensured that all eligible beneficiaries receive scheme benefits.
