Development authority's nod to two new townships in Bareilly
MEERUT, Nov. 17 -- The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) has approved the development of two major townships in the district, including a residential township on Pilibhit Road and an industrial township in Bareilly-Mirganj region. The decisions were finalised during the BDA board meeting held on Saturday under divisional commissioner Bhupendra S Chaudhary.
BDA's new residential township along the Pilibhit bypass road received a green signal, with plans to acquire land from nine villages at an estimated cost of Rs.1,327 crore. The villages include Adoopura Jagir, Ahiladpur, Aaspur, Khoobchand, Kumhra, Kalapur, Barkapur, Moharaniya, Harharpur and Navadia Kurmiyan.
A total of 267.14 hectare land will be acquired across 820 agricultural plots. Farmers will be compensated four times the circle rate as per the BDA's proposal. Once developed, the BDA will sell 26,500 square metres as residential plots and 53,000 square metres as commercial spaces.
The second project approved is an industrial township spread over 125.48 hectares in Bareilly and Mirganj tehsils. The land will be acquired from four villages-Rasoola Chaudhary (119.49 hectares), Bhitaura Naugawan (2.30 hectares), Chitauli (2.24 hectares) and Rahpura Jagir (1.44 hectares). However, the budget for the project has not been allocated as of now.
The township will feature industrial plots, a transport hub and large warehousing units. The board also approved the option of acquiring additional land in the future if needed. In Ramganganagar housing scheme, a 2,281-square meter plot originally reserved for a petrol pump has now been declared commercial after four failed auction attempts. A separate 350-square metre plot will now be earmarked for the petrol pump.
Allottees in Saryu Enclave (Sector-10 of Ramganganagar) received major relief after the BDA approved a proposal to waive interest on outstanding dues. Those who clear their payments by the end of the financial year will not be charged any interest.
The ongoing road-widening work from Bisalpur Chauraha to Nakatia river, worth around Rs.12 crore, has been obstructed by the boundary wall of Rohilkhand University and an adjacent police outpost. Following a proposal by board member and councillor Rajesh Agarwal, the BDA approved rounding off the university wall and relocating the police outpost. Land will be allotted elsewhere for the outpost.
Another key proposal approved was the development of a science park in Sector-8 of Ramganganagar. The BDA will fund the project and a ticketing system will be introduced for its maintenance.
Approvals across six major proposals and confirmation of nine additional ones, the BDA board officials said, have set the stage for a substantial infrastructure upgrade in Bareilly, spanning housing, industry, transport, education and urban development....
