Customer attacked over leg piece request; 3 hurt
LUCKNOW, April 3 -- What began as a disagreement over a chicken leg piece in a biryani order allegedly spiralled into a violent clash at a restaurant near Engineering College crossing in Lucknow, leaving three persons seriously injured. A purported video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Shivanand Mishra, inspector of Madiaon police station said an FIR has been registered against the accused and an investigation is underway. Police teams are trying to identify and apprehend all those allegedly involved in the assault.
According to police and the complaint, the incident took place on Wednesday night when Suraj Prajapati, a resident of Tedhi Pulia, along with his friend Mohammad Aamir, visited the restaurant to get biryani packed. The situation escalated after Prajapati objected to the chicken pieces served and asked the staff members to replace it with a leg piece.
Prajapati alleged that the restaurant owner, identified as Rizwan, reacted aggressively and began abusing him when he insisted on changing the piece, triggering a heated exchange that soon turned violent.
In his complaint, Prajapati alleged that Rizwan picked up an iron rod and, along with 10 to 12 staff members, including an employee named Zameer, attacked him and his friend. He claimed he was hit on the head, causing a deep injury, and also suffered a fractured arm, adding that he lost consciousness during the assault.
Mohammad Aamir also sustained injuries and reportedly fainted during the incident. A local lawyer, Devendra Pratap Singh, who intervened to defuse the situation, was also allegedly attacked and suffered injuries to his hand after being hit with a rod....
