Rudrapur, Feb. 21 -- The administration of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) has expanded the animal housing capacity at its Dhikala rescue centre by adding 10 new enclosures, increasing the total number from 20 to 30, officials familiar with the matter said on Friday. CTR director Saket Badola said the expansion was prompted by a steady rise in the number of rescued wild animals due to escalating human-wildlife conflict in the region. The Dhikala rescue centre plays a vital role in the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of wild animals, particularly tigers and leopards, across the Kumaon region.
