Corruption rampant in the name of schemes: Cong national gen secy
VARANASI, Feb. 9 -- Congress national general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Avinash Pandey on Sunday alleged that the BJP government is continuously weakening the Constitution and democracy. "Corruption is rampant in the name of various schemes. No work is being done in the interest of the common people," Pandey alleged. He was addressing his party's Samvidhan Samvad Sammelan at Shashtri Ghat in Varanasi.
"Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who raises the voice of the people and the country in Parliament, is not being allowed to speak," he further alleged. Presiding over the conference, UP Congress chief Ajay Rai alleged that unemployment was rising but the government had no vision for giving employment and addressing the problems of farmers.
Rai alleged that the heritage of Kashi was being destroyed in the name of development. Congress spokespersons Pawan Khera and Supriya Shrinate also addressed the gathering. Shrinate alleged that nothing was done for cleaning the Ganga. Every Congress worker should come forward to fight for saving the Constitution and democracy, said Congress MP Kishori Lal Sharma....
