LUCKNOW, Jan. 22 -- A container driver was found dead inside his vehicle in the Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area of Lucknow, late on Monday night, prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Police are suspecting the man was murdered as there were injury marks on the deceased's face. According to a police statement, a PRV team on night patrol around 11 pm noticed a container parked on the roadside near Indaurabag turning with its cabin door open. "On checking the cabin, the policemen found a man lying unconscious on the seat next to the driver's seat, with visible injury marks on his face," the statement read. The man was immediately pulled out of the vehicle and rushed to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead, it added. Using the Aadhaar card recovered from the spot and the vehicle registration details, police contacted the vehicle owner and the victim's family. The deceased was identified as Rammoorti (37), son of Chhote Lal, a resident of Nansoha village under Ramkot police station in Sitapur district. Preliminary information suggests that Rammoorti was driving the container loaded with two-wheelers from Haridwar to Ghazipur. His family members have since reached the spot.
