CM's 'cyber commandos' to crack down on cybercrime
LUCKNOW, Jan. 4 -- The Yogi Adityanath government has constituted a specialised team of "cyber commandos" who are trained on the lines of elite forces such as the SPG and NSG, as per a press release issued by the chief minister's media cell on Saturday.
"The initiative aims to equip select police personnel with advanced technical skills, cutting-edge tools, and specialised training from some of the country's premier institutions," it added.
In the first phase, 15 police personnel have been trained and deployed at zonal and headquarters levels to ensure swift and effective action against cyber offences.
As per the release, the cyber commandos have undergone intensive training under experts from IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Naya Raipur, and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU).
They also received specialised inputs in cyber forensics, digital tracing, and online crime investigation from the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gujarat and New Delhi.
Cyber/CID director-general Binod Kumar Singh said, "In line with the chief minister's vision, a special team of cyber commandos has been created and equipped with advanced technologies to counter cyber fraud and digital crimes."...
