CM for crackdown on land lease bribery
GORAKHPUR, Jan. 17 -- Reaffirming the government's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed strict and immediate action against officials and intermediaries involved in demanding or accepting bribes for land lease (patta) allotments. The directives were issued during the Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath temple, where Yogi personally interacted with citizens and heard their grievances. The chief minister met nearly 200 visitors and assured them of swift redressal of their complaints.
"Wherever complaints are received regarding patta allotments in exchange for money, an immediate investigation must be conducted and strict action taken against those found guilty," Yogi said.
He forwarded several applications to the respective departments with clear instructions for time-bound disposal. After a woman raised concerns about her poor financial condition and her daughter's marriage, Yogi directed officials concerned to arrange the marriage under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme. He also instructed administrative officers to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government welfare schemes.
On applications seeking financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses, the chief minister assured that lack of money would not become a barrier to medical care. He directed officials to immediately prepare cost estimates for advanced treatment of needy patients and submit them without delay.
"No one's treatment will stop due to lack of funds. As soon as the estimate is received, necessary assistance will be provided," he said....
