Meerut, Jan. 24 -- A 30-year-old woman whose decomposed body was found in Bareilly earlier this month was brutally murdered by one of her close friends, police suspected. Pooja Rana, who worked as an event manager and hailed from Durganagar in the Baradari area, was made to consume an intoxicating substance and then strangled to death, superintendent of police (city) Manush Pareek said, adding the body was then buried in a field near a private college in Bareilly. The accused, Vimal Kumar, was arrested on Friday following his confession during interrogation. Pooja went missing on January 12. She had told her mother and sister that she was going to an event. "Primary investigation suggests Vimal had a financial dispute with Pooja," the SP city said....
