Clear licensing framework needed to safeguard IP amid AI evolution: Study
Lucknow, Jan. 2 -- A recent research study by the Faculty of Law, Lucknow University, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences, has highlighted growing concerns around intellectual property (IP) protection in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem and proposed solutions to address challenges arising from the excessive use of AI technologies.
The study examined IP protection mechanisms adopted by the European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom under their respective AI governance frameworks, assessing how effectively these jurisdictions have addressed IP issues linked to generative AI models.
It also proposed a comprehensive AI policy framework along with recommendations for policymakers and professionals operating at the intersection of AI and IP law.
