Clean air health priority, say experts at RespiWalk
LUCKNOW, April 13 -- The concluding day of RespiWalk 2026, organised by the department of respiratory medicine at King George's Medical University, underscored the growing burden of respiratory diseases and the urgent need for a balanced approach combining advanced medical technologies with public awareness.
Vice-chancellor Dr Soniya Nityanand stressed that while modern diagnostic and treatment methods are rapidly evolving, timely recognition of symptoms, pollution control, and adoption of healthier lifestyles remain equally vital.
Experts at the conference highlighted that clean air has emerged as a critical health necessity rather than merely an environmental issue.
The sessions were chaired by Dr Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Dr Gaurav Srivastava, featuring discussions on COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease by experts including Dr Ruchi Dua, Dr Kislay Kishore, Dr Abhishek Tandon, Dr V K Jain, Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Dr Anubhuti Singh, and Dr Ranganath TG.
