chomu council acts against 'encroachment' by meat shops
Jaipur, Jan. 2 -- Five days after a stone-pelting incident triggered by a dispute over the installation of an iron railing outside a mosque near the Chomu bus stand, the Chomu Municipal Council has adopted a strict stance against illegally operating meat shops and encroachments on road land in the area.
In a notice issued by the municipal council on Thursday, action has been warned against people running meat or non-vegetarian shops without prior permission and those who have illegally constructed sheds and staircases within the road boundary.
According to the notice, such encroachments are causing inconvenience to the general public and disrupting traffic movement.
The municipal council stated that the concerned individual is operating a meat/non-vegetarian shop without approval from the competent authority and has also erected an illegal shed and stairs outside the shop within the road limits. Officials said notices had been issued earlier as well, but the rules were not complied with within the stipulated time.
