Camp elephant kills handler in Dudhwa
Lakhimpur Kheri, April 30 -- A 51-year-old handler, Ram Vilas, was killed following a sudden attack by a camp elephant, at the Dudhwa National Park (DNP) on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the Salukapur Base Camp within the South Sonaripur range of the park as Ram Vilas was leading the 13-year-old elephant, Vinayak, towards a pool for a routine bath.The other park staff intervened, controlled the elephant and rescued Ram Vilas, who was rushed to Palia Community Health Center in a critical condition but Ram Vilas succumbed to his injuries.
