Bus crushes student to death in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 26 -- A student riding a bicycle was killed after being hit by a school bus about 500 metres from Puramufti police station in Prayagraj on Wednesday afternoon. The driver fled with the vehicle after the incident. The victim, Pawan Patel (Kaushambi), was on his way to a coaching class when the incident occurred. According to police, the speeding bus ran him over around 1.30 pm, killing him on the spot. The incident triggered public anger, with local residents blocking the Prayagraj-Kanpur road and demanding the arrest of the bus driver. Police later pacified the protesters and restored traffic. Pawan, a resident of Gauspur village under Sandipan Ghat police station in Kaushambi district, had completed his graduation and was pursuing Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications (ADCA) at a coaching centre in Puramufti.
Family members reached the spot after being informed and broke down in grief. Puramufti SHO Manoj Singh said an FIR has been registered against the unidentified bus driver on the complaint of the victim's father. htc...
