Bomb threats: Courts' security to be audited
Dehradun, Feb. 21 -- The Uttarakhand Police has ordered a statewide comprehensive audit of security arrangements on court premises, a senior officer said on Friday. The move follows a series of threats to multiple court complexes, including the state high court's Nainital bench.
DGP Deepam Seth said strict additional security directives were also put in place.
They include the deployment of adequate police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel equipped with security gear at all court premises across districts. The directions also call for the deployment of Quick Response Teams and Anti-Terrorism Squad teams within court premises as a precautionary measure against potential terrorist threats or bomb attacks. Bomb Disposal Squads and Dog Squads have been directed to carry out anti-sabotage checks every morning before court proceedings commence....
