Body of former nagar panchayatchairman found on railway track
GORAKHPUR, Feb. 1 -- The body of a former nagar panchayat chairman was found severed into two parts on a railway track in Kaptanganj town of Kushinagar district on Saturday afternoon, triggering shock and concern in the area.
Police personnel reached the spot and identified the deceased. SHO of Kaptanganj, SK Dubey, said: "The body was found on the railway track in two parts. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of death caused by a train accident. However, all aspects are being investigated, and the post-mortem report will clarify the exact cause of death."
The deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar Agrahari, 60, former chairman of the Kaptanganj Nagar Panchayat. The condition of the body suggested that he may have been run over by a train.
According to his son, advocate Gaurav Agrahari, his father had left home on Saturday morning to visit his in-laws. Before leaving, he took Rs.2,000 from him but did not return. Later in the day, local residents spotted a body lying on the railway track and informed the police....
