VARANASI, Feb. 20 -- National BJP leaders on Thursday advised around 200 party functionaries from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar to exercise restraint in public statements and strengthen outreach during the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Maha Abhiyan-2026 held at the Central Tibetan Institute of Higher Education in Sarnath. Addressing the participants, senior leaders stressed the need to think carefully before commenting on controversial issues and avoid unnecessary remarks. They also asked workers to actively publicise welfare schemes of the Centre and state governments and stay connected with the masses. The training programme, attended by leaders from the party's North-East organisational zone, concluded with discussions on ideological orientation and organisational strategy ahead of upcoming elections. "The BJP is the world's largest organisation today and its responsibilities and challenges have also increased. Therefore, training of workers is essential to meet public expectations," joint general secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash said, adding classes should be held with simplicity and social cooperation. "The BJP's core objective is to build an organisation through individual development, and nation-building through organisation development. This training campaign is a Mahayagya for nation-building," Prakash added. BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh detailed the outline, objectives, and methodology of the training campaign. He stated that divisional-level workshops would be held from March 7 to April 14, and district-level workshops from April 15 to May 20, followed by state-level training. Union minister of state for finance and BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary said the party lays special emphasis on training of workers. He added that through this campaign, workers would be connected to the organisation's working methodology. Co-convenors Om Prakash Dhankhar and V Satish, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP national vice-president Laxmikant Vajpayee, and Uttarakhand state president Mahendra Bhatt were present at the training workshop.
