Big win for Round Glass in babu hockey
LUCKNOW, Feb. 6 -- Punjab's Round Glass Academy notched up a facile 14-1 win over Hockey Assam to record day's biggest win in the 36th All India KD Singh Babu Sub-Junior Boys Hockey Tournament, at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium here on Thursday. In other matches of the day, PIS Mohali defeated MMS Sports Academy 3-1, Ficker Brother Haryana beat SDA Tamil Nadu 7-1 and Rajasthan Hockey Association beat SSE Organisation Manipur 5-0.
Azamgarh's Anshika Yadav on Thursday finished runners-up in the Under-19 category of the WPL speed gun trials, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Yadav, 15, who has been training at the Lucknow's AS Cricket Academy, bowled at a speed of 105 kilometre and was awarded Rs 1 lakh for her silver finish. She achieved note for clocking high speeds during BCCI-organized WPL speed gun trials, earning a spot in final trials in Mumbai.
