Lucknow, Feb. 20 -- The window pane of a coach of the Vande Bharat Express was damaged after being struck by an object near the Balokhar railway crossing in Hardoi district on Thursday afternoon, officials said. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat was among the passengers but was not in the damaged coach. He had boarded the train in Lucknow. The train was running on its scheduled service from Varanasi to Meerut when the incident occurred around 3.30 pm, briefly alarming passengers. Sub-inspector Sarvesh Kumar of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Hardoi, confirmed the damage but said it was unclear whether it resulted from stone pelting. Preliminary information suggests some children were playing near the tracks and a cricket ball may have hit the glass. The impact shattered a window in coach C-4. No injuries were reported. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP personnel reached the spot promptly. Cases under relevant sections of the Railways Act are being registered. CCTV footage is being examined and further investigation is underway....
