Barabanki ANTF arrests heroin trafficker; drugs worth Rs.1.26 cr seized
LUCKNOW, April 12 -- The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Barabanki arrested an alleged heroin trafficker on Friday and seized 630 grams of the drug valued at around Rs.1.26 crore, police said on Saturday.
The accused was held near Trilokpur turn close to Bindaura bridge.
Police said the ANTF team recovered 630 grams of heroin from his possession.
They also seized an HF Deluxe motorcycle, an Android mobile phone and Rs.245 in cash. A case has been registered at Masauli police station under sections 8, 21 and 60 of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further legal proceedings are under way.
During questioning, Hussain allegedly told police that he had bought the heroin from an unidentified person. He said he was waiting for nightfall to sell it when he was arrested.
He also admitted that he entered the trade for quick financial gains. Police said the interrogation provided important leads. Investigators are now working to trace both the supply and distribution network. htc...
