PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 19 -- On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption team arrested Bara police station incharge in Trans Yamuna region of the district, Vinod Kumar Sonkar, for accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000. The police station incharge had demanded a bribe from a youth from Bhadohi in exchange for filing a final report in a case registered against him. Meanwhile, in another instance a tax collector of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) Anoop Chandra Mishra was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Team accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person in exchange for registering a name in the records. As per reports, Santosh Kumar Dubey, a resident of Lukmanpur Suriyawa in Bhadohi district, filed a written complaint with the Anti-Corruption team Prayagraj, accusing Bara police station incharge Vinod Kumar Sonkar of demanding a bribe of Rs 75,000. A 15-member vigilance team led by inspector Mrityunjay Kumar Mishra arrested Bara inspector Vinod Kumar Sonkar, a Sarnath resident, at 2.45pm Wednesday and registered a case at Ghoorpur.
