VARANASI, March 28 -- A battery swapping station will be established at Banaras (BNRS) Railway Station in Varanasi, said Ashok Kumar, public relations officer of the Varanasi division. Railway authorities have granted a license through an e-auction process for setting up a battery swapping station at Banaras (BNRS) Railway Station, as part of the Varanasi Division's initiative to promote sustainable and green transportation, he said. The annual license fee for the facility has been fixed at Rs.2.67 lakh. The initiative has been launched under the guidance of divisional railway manager Ashish Jain and the leadership of senior divisional commercial manager Sheikh Rahman. The battery swapping facility is expected to be highly beneficial for passengers, visitors, and last-mile transportation services (such as e-rickshaws and two-wheelers), as it allows for the quick and convenient replacement of discharged batteries.htc...
