Rudrapur, Feb. 6 -- Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) administration has banned mobile phones during jungle safari from Thursday. The CTR administration has set up lockers for tourists' mobile phones at the gates of all zones. The prohibition's aim is to restrict mobile phones during jungle safari in adherence to the directions of the Supreme Court, said officials aware of the matter. Deputy director of CTR Rahul Mishra said: "Mobile phones have been banned during jungle safari in CTR from Thursday. The tourists will have to deposit their phones in lockers set up at the gates of safari zones before advancing to the safari." The Supreme Court had directed forest departments to prohibit the mobile phones in core habitats of the tigers and during jungle safari in tiger reserves to check human intervention in tigers' natural habitat. Following the directions, the CTR administration has banned mobile phones during safari from Thursday. CTR administration has set up lockers at the gate of all zones. Its aim is to maintain the privacy of the tourists and safeguard their phones. According to officials, 50 lockers have been set up at the gates of all zones. Tourists will deposit their phones in lockers and can obtain them at the end of the safari. Locker system is also being set up in gypsies as well....
