Bahraich DFO transferred amid wolf attacks
Lucknow, Dec. 31 -- : The state government on Tuesday transferred Bahraich divisional forest officer RS Yadav and appointed Sunderesha, the DFO of Etah, in his place.
Forest minister Arun K Saxena said the move came after a meeting with chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
"The chief minister was particularly concerned about Bahraich. He said man-animal conflict incidents should stop and all necessary measures must be taken," Saxena said.
He added, "The chief minister has suggested additional measures for Bahraich, which will soon be implemented. He wants man-animal conflicts to end."
Bahraich has witnessed over a dozen deaths due to wolf attacks since September this year, including 11 children.
The transfer of the officer is being linked to these incidents.
