B'khand gets community-led tourism push
Lucknow, Jan. 31 -- The Uttar Pradesh government is stepping up efforts to develop Bundelkhand as the state's next major tourism destination, with a strong focus on community participation. Known for its history of bravery, forts and temples, the region is being promoted through a structured tourism plan that places local people at the centre of the visitor experience. As part of this initiative, more than 150 auto, taxi and e-rickshaw drivers in Jhansi have completed a two-day special training programme. The programme was organised by the Uttar Pradesh tourism department in collaboration with the Manyavar Kanshiram Institute of Tourism Management. Its aim was to transform local drivers into cultural ambassadors who can guide and inform tourists.
The region is known for its rugged landscape, rivers, forts and temples that reflect centuries of history and sacrifice. Jhansi alone recorded over 1.34 crore tourist visits in 2025. htc...
