LUCKNOW, March 28 -- A 69-year-old Ayurvedic doctor allegedly died by suicide using his licensed revolver at his residence in Sitapur district's Civil Lines area under City Kotwali police station limits on Friday, police said. The incident occurred around 1 pm when a gunshot was heard from the first floor of the house. The doctor's wife rushed to the room and found him lying face down on the bed in a pool of blood, with a bullet wound through his temple. The revolver was lying nearby. Police reached the spot and took the weapon into their custody. A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence, while the body was sent for a post-mortem examination. The deceased was a BAMS-qualified practitioner who ran a clinic in Khairabad. He lived with his 65-year-old wife. Their two sons stay outside-one is a doctor with the Indian Air Force posted in Kharagpur, and the other is pursuing LLB in Lucknow.
