LUCKNOW, Feb. 4 -- Kanpur's Archana Devi will be leading the 20-member Uttar Pradesh in the Senior Women's One Day Trophy, beginning February 6 at Rajkot. Left-hand batter varnika from Saharanpur will be her deputy. Former runners-up Uttar Pradesh will begin their Elite Group A campaign with a match against Karnataka on Friday. This will be followed by the matches against Maharashtra on February 8, against Odisha on February 10, against Madhya Pradesh on February 12, against Baroda on February 14, against Pondicherry on February 16 before playing their last league match against Assam on February 18. Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association declared the team on Tuesday after the end of a camp of probables at the Sage Cricket Ground here in Lucknow on Sunday. The team consists of four cricketers from Lucknow and they are Sonali Singh, Sjilpi Yadav, Aarzu Singh and Sandhya Chetri. Lucknow's Aroma Tyagi has been named in the state bye. Other members of the team are: Nishu Chouwdhary, Tripti Singh, Ekta Singh, Muskan Malik, Sonam Yadav, Nishi Kashyap, Anjali Singh, Anshu Tewari, Garima Yadav, Rama Kushwaha, Sampada Dixit, Khushi Tyagi, Shraddha Tiwari and Meenu Yadav. Hosts UP Karma (UPK) on Tuesday stormed into the quarterfinals of the 36th All India KD Singh Babu Sub-Junior Boys Hockey Tournament, routing Tata Steel Jamshedpur by 15-0, at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium here.
