VARANASI, March 16 -- Uttar Pradesh minister of state (independent charge) for stamp, court fees and registration, Ravindra Jaiswal, on Sunday urged residents to secure piped natural gas (PNG) connections for their homes at the earliest by taking advantage of the special camp scheme launched across eight zones of the Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN). On the minister's instructions, GAIL, in coordination with the Varanasi administration, has organised camps in all eight zones of the city to help citizens apply for PNG connections. Jaiswal said the special camps, set up at all zonal offices of the VNN, are providing citizens with the opportunity to apply for domestic piped gas connections. Officials present at the camps are also offering detailed information about the scheme. On the first day of the campaign on Sunday, the minister inspected a special camp set up at the VNN zonal office in Nadesar. During the visit, he interacted with people present at the camp and encouraged them to take maximum advantage of the scheme by applying promptly for PNG connections....
