AYODHYA:, July 31 -- The District Cricket Association Ayodhya (Faizabad) on Wednesday announced its 'Ayodhya Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, scheduled to be held in October, at the Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Stadium here in Ayodhya. Secretary of the District Cricket Association Ayodhya, Umair Ahmed said that all eight teams will be participating in the event, which will see the commencement of 29 matches. The teams are: Ganga Warriors, Saryu Smashers, Gomti Thunder, Chambal Chargers, Yamuna Super Kings, Sharda Storms, Betwa Blasters and Hindon Titans. "Out of 16 players in a team, 11 cricketers will be picked from Ayodhya, whereas five others would be from other parts of the state," said Ahmed while announcing the league today. "Interested players will be applying online whereas the trials would be conducted at Lucknow in August before conducting the camps too in Lucknow," said Ahmed, adding, "The event will be conducted b y Jai Siaram Group of Companies and former Team India cricketer Gyanendra Pandey has been named as the brand ambassador of the event." Speaking on the occasion, Ayodhya's mayor and patron of the APL 2025, Girish Pati Tripathi said that there is no dearth of talent in Ayodhya and he has extended his full support to the event. "The APL will help Ayodhya cricketers showcase their talents at a bigger stage." APL's brand ambassador. Gyanendra Pandey also said that the event will allow cricketers from Ayodhya region to draw the attention of Uttar Pradesh selectors. "It's a good move for the uplift of the game in the region after Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has conducted the two editions of the UPTwenty20 League," he said....
