LUCKNOW, April 17 -- A seminar dedicated to honouring Bhimrao Ambedkar's birth anniversary brought together civic leaders, educators, officials in Sarojininagar Assembly constituency under "Samman Abhiyan 2026," with speakers underscoring the relevance of his ideals in contemporary society. Copies of Ambedkar's autobiography and his work 'Jaat-Paat Ka Vinash' were distributed among participants on the occasion. Chief guest Tryambak Tripathi said Congress neglected Babasaheb while promoting Jawaharlal Nehru despite Ambedkar's contribution. He said Indian society progressed due to Babasaheb's role. Dr Rajeshwar Singh, who led the initiative, said April 14 represents far more than a calendar date. "It is the foundation of justice, equality, rights," he stated, adding that fulfilling duties alongside rights constitutes the true tribute to Babasaheb. Singh said efforts are being made in Sarojininagar to realise Babasaheb's vision. He said Tara Shakti Kendras for women empowerment have emerged as a key identity, with over 150 centres supporting thousands of women. In education, he said smart classes have been set up in 62 schools and 150 computers provided to help youth gain modern technological skills. He alleged that Congress and Samajwadi Party are shedding crocodile tears in the name of Babasaheb. He said during the SP government, names of institutions and districts dedicated to Dalit icons were changed, while Congress honoured a person who contested against Babasaheb with the Padma Bhushan. He said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are being made to realise Ambedkar's vision, adding that benefits of schemes are reaching all sections without discrimination. Referring to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, he said it is a step towards equality. htc...
