Lucknow, March 8 -- Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday demanded that the Election Commission clarify the source of the printed Form-7 and the action taken against those who allegedly forged signatures to delete voters' names. Replying to a question at a press conference, Yadav said, "The Election Commission is a liar. If the Samajwadi Party hadn't raised such a hue and cry, the BJP would have prepared to cancel votes on a large scale in every assembly constituency. The Election Commission should explain where such a large number of printed Form-7 came from." Responding to another question, Yadav said bringing back all Indians who wish to return from the Gulf countries is the government's responsibility. "India's foreign policy will be decided by the Indian government and the people, not by any other country," he further said. "If oil is available at a cheaper rate from Russia, the government should import more oil from Russia," he added. The SP president also alleged the BJP is conspiring to defame the Samajwadi Party. "A song has been launched to defame the Samajwadi Party. The Samajwadi Party will file an FIR against that song," he stated. Several prominent leaders joined the Samajwadi Party in Lucknow on Saturday in the presence of the SP president at the party office.
