Adani Foundation holds 30 health camps
Lucknow, Feb. 13 -- Adani Foundation's CSR programme organised 30 special free health camps in 30 villages of Mirzapur district with the help of HelpAge, said a foundation press statement on Thursday.
The camps provided health services to thousands of needy families living in rural areas. A total of five specialist doctors, including a gynaecologist, orthopaedic surgeon, ophthalmologist, paediatrician and general physician, offered their services at the camps, the statement said.
During the camps, free check-ups were conducted for villagers. Essential health services such as blood sugar, haemoglobin and blood group tests were also provided. A total of 9,648 OPD consultations were conducted through the 30 health camps. These included 4,284 men and 5,358 women.
A large number of women and elderly people benefited from the camps, showing that such initiatives are much needed in rural areas, the statement said.
The statement added that villagers appreciated Adani Power, Adani Foundation and HelpAge for the initiative. It further said that Adani Foundation is proving to be a lifeline for backward areas in the fields of health, education, sanitation and livelihood....
