Lucknow, Feb. 17 -- Chief secretary SP Goyal on Monday conducted a detailed review of the progress of land acquired, developed, and allotted by various industrial development authorities and the Housing Development Council. Presiding over a meeting, the chief secretary stated that a target of 78,000 acres has been set for land allotment in the current financial year. During the meeting, the chief secretary reviewed the status of land availability to accelerate industrial investment in the state and strengthen the manufacturing sector. He stated that strengthening and expanding the land bank is essential to promote industry and manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh. All authorities should work in coordination and play an active role in taking industrial development in the state to new heights, he added. He stated that given the growing trend of investment in the state, a timely land acquisition, development, and allotment process should be ensured. Special attention should also be paid to the availability of essential infrastructure-roads, electricity, water supply, and logistics-in industrial areas, he said. He also directed that the land allocation process be made more transparent, technology-based, and investor-friendly, so that there are no obstacles in establishing industrial units. Principal secretary (Planning) Alok Kumar, principal secretary (Urban Development) P. Guruprasad, Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand, and other senior officials were present at the meeting. At the meeting, officials from the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA), Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA), UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) were directed to assess the current status of the land bank and future needs and submit a detailed action plan. htc...
