5 minors travelling alonerescued at Vns Junction
LUCKNOW, Jan. 29 -- Five minors travelling alone were rescued at Varanasi Junction on Wednesday following timely intervention by Northern Railway staff, officials said.
According to a release issued by the Lucknow division of Northern Railway, three boys and two girls were travelling in a general coach of the New Delhi-Jaynagar Swatantrata Senani Express (12562). They were noticed in suspicious circumstances during routine monitoring at the station on Wednesday.
Kuldeep Tiwari, senior divisional commercial manager, said that interaction with the minors and subsequent telephonic conversations with their family members revealed that all five had run away from home without informing their parents and boarded the train on their own.
"The commercial staff on duty alerted the RPF after sensing something amiss. Acting on the information, the RPF intervened and ensured the minors were safely deboarded at Varanasi Junction," Tiwari said.
The minors were subsequently handed over to the Child Helpline, railway officials said....
