4 arrested over firing at Rohit Shetty's house
Mumbai, Feb. 2 -- Four people were arrested on Sunday in connection with the firing outside director Rohit Shetty's house in Mumbai's Juhu area earlier in the day, police said.
According to the police, the firing occurred at 12.43am, after which five suspects fled to Pune in a vehicle and were later detained. The accused were intercepted by Pune police based on a tip-off from Mumbai police, and handed over to Mumbai crime branch which is investigating the case, Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar told reporters. Crime Branch arrested four out of the five detained suspects in the firing case at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's Juhu residence, officials said.
Those arrested are Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19) from Pune's Karve Nagar, Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20) from Pune's Dhayari locality, Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18) from Pune's Dhayari locality and Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23) from Pune. Meanwhile, Aman Anand Marote (27) from Pune has been served notice and will be called for questioning, officers said.
"The five accused will be produced before the court on Monday," an officer said. Meanwhile, a social media post purporting to be from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's aide Shubham Lonkar - a wanted accused in the October 2024 murder of NCP leader and former state minister Baba Siddique - and a certain Aarzo Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the firing. It threatened others in Bollywood "to fall in line".....
