Barmer/Jaisalmer, Jan. 11 -- Shops and markets remained closed since morning in Pokhran town in Jaisalmer district on Saturday following a call for a bandh by Hindutva organisations to protest an alleged cow slaughter incident reported in Kelawa village on January 8. Heavy police deployment was made across the town to maintain law and order. A large protest rally and public meeting were organised at around 12.30pm in front of the Sakda Panchayat Samiti office, where a huge crowd gathered raising slogans and demanding strict action against the accused. Pokhran DSP Bhawani Singh said that the three accused arrested include Gaffar Khan (55), Murad Ali (24), and Mohammad Sarif alias Kalu (23). Detailed interrogation of the accused is underway. He further said that a municipal team reached the spot and demolished the house of accused Gaffar Khan located near Ramdevsar Talab in Pokhran, citing illegal construction....
