LUCKNOW, Jan. 25 -- The Republic Day parade in Lucknow this time will be a vibrant celebration of culture, development and public service, with 22 departments and institutions set to present thematic tableaux on the occasion, said senior officials aware of the development. The sequence of the tableaux was decided through a lottery held at the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) office on January 5, under its secretary Vivek Srivastava. Representatives from participating departments and organisations were present during the draw. Nodal officer Madhavesh Kumar said the lottery ensures a fair and transparent allotment of positions in the parade line-up. The officials said the parade will feature a rich mix of themes reflecting Uttar Pradesh's heritage, governance initiatives, education, environment and social awareness. Among the prominent participants is the state forest department that is expected to highlight wildlife conservation and green initiatives. The horticulture and food processing department is likely to showcase advancements in agriculture and value-added farming. The agriculture directorate will also represent the state's agrarian strength and modern farming practices. Cultural and linguistic heritage will find expression through tableaux from institutions such as the Uttar Pradesh Language Institute, Sanskrit Sansthan, Punjabi Academy and Sindhi Academy. Institutions, including City Montessori School, Lucknow Public Schools and Colleges and IRAM Educational Society, will add youthful energy to the parade, emphasising innovation, value-based education and student achievements. Public service and civic awareness will be represented by departments such as the Police Department (Traffic), which is expected to promote road safety, and the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, highlighting public transportation services. The Medical and Family Welfare Department may focus on healthcare outreach and public health schemes. Urban development and civic missions will also take the centre stage. The LDA, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), and the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission are likely to present themes around clean cities, housing and improved urban infrastructure. Tourism and heritage promotion will be represented by the tourism directorate, showcasing the state's historic, spiritual, and cultural destinations. The information and public relations department is expected to highlight government communication and public awareness initiatives.
