VARANASI, Jan. 21 -- Banaras Hindu University (BHU) vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi on Tuesday said that academicians must aspire to compete at a global level rather than limiting themselves to comparisons within their own institutions. Prof Chaturvedi was speaking after inaugurating a workshop to train the college teachers from all across India who have gathered at BHU for the workshop on the pedagogical and experimental use of drosophila melanogaster in biology laboratory teaching. Organised at Cytogenetics Laboratory, the one week training aims to enhance the practical competencies of college teachers through laboratory training, live demonstrations and collaborative learning sessions. Highlighting BHU's inclusive academic ecosystem, Prof Chaturvedi noted that students and researchers from across Bharat converge at the university, creating a rich intellectual gene pool.
